Card 5

I tried my hand incorporating all the washi tape on this one. It was fun to random choose ones to use that I did not have to worry would not work with the message. I felt like my bicycle, should get center stage so I did not age or distress it to much.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. - Josh 1:9

I have to constently remind myself that I can be encouraged by the word, it can lift me up, if I let it. That is a strong message for me to learn, and to take to heart.

Card 4

Card 4 was to be a canvas heart, I did the canvas as a backdrop to my paper heart. I really did not want to leave a message off so I choose, Remember Grace. This has a special meaning to me since Grace means Mercy and Peace to me. This is the path that I want to take and continue to grow.

Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home. - John Newton "Amazing Grace"

Card 3

I tried to follow the directions on this card, but it was a fail. I used glitter on the heart then decoupaged over it. Well, it turned out really muted, so I added a layer of stickles over it and it finally glittered. So things were covered over since I did not like them.

always believe.... this means to me, have courage always believe in yourself because .....I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13

Card 2

Card 2 - do what you love
Another week's card, this one made me stop and think. Have you ever had the opportunity to do what you love? I don't often stop and think about this subject. Often the pressure of day to day life makes it difficult.

There is so much to love in this world. There were so many things that I love that I started a list. I am sure that it will grow as I discover more things. But for now it is a start. I am keeping the back side of these cards to journal those personal things to reflect on in the future.

Monday, December 30, 2013

Well, as I prepare for the new year I have been looking back and reflecting on 2013. I realize that the coming year can only get better. I have shared with some of you the struggles I have faced this year, with the death of my best friend, my sister. This is a very great loss to me, and I struggle daily. I know she is with me in my heart, so I am living for both of us now. I have big plans for 2014, some of which include continuing to use art journaling to heal. This type of art was shared with me by a very close friend. This person has become my champion, and helped me when things look dark.

This year I will be positive, I will not let life get me down, and I will not let others actions effect me....Great, right? I am sure there are not many followers to this blog since I have been dormant for so long. However, this place was always my outlet to share what I was creating and to get my feelings expressed. I hope that I am able to help someone else out there struggling, to reach inside and find your true path. As I work through the 2013 52 Card Pickup Class by Stephanie Ackerman. I know I am a year behind, but I want to start fresh...

Here is my title card....
