Oops! I made a mistake

Okay, I have been advised that I added a score line to my text instructions for the cocoa holder. I have edited them and they should be correct. I did want to add a few more details so that this would be a little clearer. I hope this helps those who wanted to play. Sorry, for any confusion this may of caused. Hopefully everyone that makes one will find this easier to understand.

Finished!

This is a Cocoa holder and money card that I made for the fabulous ladies that work at our Lutheran Child care center. These ladies are great and they always take extra great care of my kiddos. I hope they don't see this before I get a chance to give it tomorrow.

I found the template on line, but after I tried to make it I had to redesign it. So, I will let you know that this one is not for the easily frustrated.

First, I started with a 8 1/2 X 10 1/2 piece of Bazzill Cardstock.
I used the green from the Reece Cardstock Collection, and the Red
for the mono pack.
Next, you score the cardstock in the landscape position at 1/2,
3 1/2, 4, 7 & 7 1/2.
Then, flip the cardstock to portrait position and score at 1/2, 1,
7 1/2 & 8.

As you can see from this picture I made all the score marks then cut and removed the excess. Now, when you fold the score marks starting at the left they will go, valley, valley, valley, valley and final fold will be mountain. This makes the inside section. Be sure to use red line tape to secure the box section. It makes a nice and tight hold that you will not have to worry about coming lose.

Then, the fun, decorating and putting the finish touches on them. I used the Christmas Circle set along with the Label lingo. The paper is from the retired Vintage Holiday collection from tac. I love this paper, I really wish they would bring it out of retirement. I used an assortment of circle, oval and scallop punches. Tied them together with brown scrappers floss and finished the project with a little glitz from crystal stickles.

Now, they are ready for delivery.

Ornaments Again

I love these ornaments, I am having a hard time not make them on every card. It is just so much fun to color them. We used the red and green theme for our Christmas tree and were happy with the results. So I made a card to represent it.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Season!

December is starting off with a bang! Here is the template that Melinda created, now this is the woman that always whines when there are circles. I believe that she is paying us back.

I used the circle as my opening, I really enjoyed trying to figure out what to do with this sketch. Melinda had me stumped for most of the evening.
This is the Ordinary Greeting set and the Swirly gigs.

Ami's sketch is great and very versatile. I flipped it on it's side to create a Thanksgiving card. Fall is my favorite, and I know I say it all the time. So, I wanted my card to represent all the things that I love about the season. From the decorations, to the leaves, and finally turkey.
Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving? Oh, my where did the time go? Well, I hope each and everyone of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with joy, family and great food.

Celebrate!

I saw a card in a advertisiment last year and I finally got around to copying the sketch. I loved the circle, which I usually struggle with, so I jumped on this one. LOL!
So I got to work using the bazzill greens, the designer collection A little whimsy, linear sentiments for the background, little cupcake set. Then on the inside it says" I just read a report that said birthdays are good for you." and that is from the great greetings set. I also used my scor-pal along with my scor bug.

Let me know what you think.

Holiday Time

Can you believe it? The holidays are almost here! I just got used to writing 2009. Now, I am going to have to start all over again.

This may have been the hardest year yet, aside for losing my parents. I think we have struggled more in everything. I mean is it just me or did a switch get turned that said everything this year had to be difficult??

I love the fall, so as it starts to pass it makes me reflect on the year. I am thankful that my family is healthy, happy, and have enough. My wish for the coming year is that I am able to help my friends and family more. I just feel like I have really been lacking this year. Now don't get me wrong I am always busy with work, kids, school, home and volunteering. I just see many families struggling and that is when I wish I could do more.

Well, this card was inspired by my friend Melinda who is always helping me. Mindy, I wish I could wrap you in a hug everyday. You are a Rock Star! She is a helping hand when you do not even realize that you need one. She is an angel, and she means the world to me.

And here is what I came up with, not super creative. Hope you like it anyway. I am sure when you go peak at Melinda's you will be happy, she always rocks the sketches.

Tuesday Template 10-20-09

This sketch is all mine, and I went for quick and easy.
I just did a Christmas swap and I went way overboard
making them elaborate. So I am glad that is one was easy.
It helped me to keep my sanity.
I used the Tea for Two set out of the Inspiration Avenue catalog.
I also used the More Mimi SWIC and the Matching Cardstock.
So that saves so much time, when everything matches.

Little Bear

This set reminds me of my own little bear. See when John was a couple years younger he took the shampoo and poured it all over the entire bathroom. Well, I said " You're silly" it was that or pull my hair out.
So this little bear will always remind me of where we have been.

Christmas Waterfall Card

I created this waterfall card, for the upcoming holiday season. I am hoping to get enough people signed up for a Christmas stamp a stack class. So, if you are interested please let me know I am looking at the November 28th weekend.

This is the new Simply Joy set from the Inspiration Avenue Catalog.

Tea for Two

I recently got the chance to play with the new Tea for Two set from the Inspiration Catalog. This set is so much fun, and you could use it in so many ways. You could use it for invitations for a tea with ladies, or a friendship card, or a get well card, or thinking of you card.
I made my card into a tri-fold and added a few pockets so that I could include a couple of packets of tea.

Tuesday Template 10-13-09

This is a sketch from Melinda, I have to say I enjoyed this one. I am totally into clean lines and rectangles. Sometimes when I see a sketch it looks like something to me and I have to force myself not to make my card into that thing. Well, this card said Nautical flag to me...crazy I know this! But I had to work extra hard not to make my card into a Nautical flag. LOL!

So, I thought hard and decided to use a set that I love and often forget to use. The ladybug is from the Doodle Bug set and the sentiment is from Funny Farm Phrases.

Hope you like it, if you do please let me know.

Template Tuesday 10-06-09

This week's sketch is from Melinda, don't you love the circles? Well, this little sketch here is from the women that has a fit every time one of us uses a circle in our sketch. Do you think she is paying us back??? Well, I have been really teasing her about this "field of circles" sketch. I hate to admit it but I love this one. Yes, you heard me right this is one of my top ten!
You can see that I enjoyed it sooo much I made two cards. LOL! The first one I used with the Elizabeth embellishment kit, so many pretty flowers and buttons. I used the for all season stamp set and the sentiments is from Pick of the Patch set.

Then this card I using the Holiday Cheer set from the Inspiration Avenue Catalog. I love this set, it is one of Mabelle's design. She is a wonderful designer for the Angel Company.

Celebrate!

I love to make little 4X4 cards, this is just a sweet and simple one. I used the Simple Joys set from the Inspiration Avenue Catalog. I will have a similiar card but full size in my upcoming Christmas Stamp a Stack Class.

October 1st is going to be here soon! Can you believe it?

It is almost Halloween TIME! I just love this holiday since it means that we are almost to my favorite holiday THANKSGIVING!

There is an Angel named Barb Foster that has an entire blog created with Halloween inspired creations. She just rocks!!!! I love that she can look at a stamp that is made for one season and use it to make a Halloween creation. Using her idea I took a look at this new set from our Inspiration Avenue catalog and thought this could be a fall stamp. See the cat is from the Winter Flurries set which is more focused on the Christmas season.

I have actually placed brads over the snow flakes that are originally in on this stamp. Well, you have to tell me what you think????? Oh, and I used the date disks for my sentiment.

Pink Christmas any one?

I was thinking do you think my family would be too upset it I called for a Pink Christmas this year? I was thinking I can buy new ornaments, decorations, and bake cookies with pink frosting. Is this taking my pink obsession to far? I mean do you think my manly husband will have a heart attack if every think at Christmas is Pink? Well, a girl can dream can' she?

:o)

Another Halloween Card

I saw this sketch and was thinking it would make a great fall card, well as you can see it turned into another Halloween Card.

This is the Spooktacular set, colored with Prisma Pencils.

Wiper Card

I made this wiper card to teach at a class recently. I was shooting for a masculine card that could easily be changed to a birthday or thank you card. I used the Good Timber set with the Woodrowe SWIC collection. I love the rich color of our brown cardstock. I hope you like it, if you do let me know.
